I’m on to you, you’re not good for me; it’s over!

I’m on to you; you’re not good for me; it’s over! Despite the claims, I’m left unfulfilled–good riddance.

It happens all day, everyday; the sacrificing of food quality and nutrient density in favor of foods that are misrepresented by company marketing. Enticed by misleading advertising and then hooked by a food’s hyperpalitability and convenience, unsuspecting consumers buy and become repeat customers (or ‘repeat users’ as it implies a high-jacking of our better judgment).

…hyper-palatable foods have specific combinations of fat, sugar, sodium and carbohydrates — think of potato chips — that make them artificially rewarding to eat and harder to stop consuming. -Tera Fazzino

When motivated by high profit margins, food companies will typically source the cheapest ingredients at their disposal and use additives to enhance everything from shelf life to the “you can’t eat just one” factor. The food product often contains ingredients that are government subsidized (e.g. corn, soy, wheat), subjected to toxic chemicals (e.g. herbicides, pesticides), and artificially processed with the finished product being so devoid of nutrients that synthetic nutrients are often added along with a label touting “fortified”.

These ‘foods’ are the opposite of health promoting. The more regular their consumption, the deeper we get sucked in and the harder it is to pull ourselves out. To counter these forces, we must first acknowledge that these companies are making money at our health’s expense. Next is to invoke, “I know what you’re up to, this is not in my best interest. It’s over between us; I’m moving on!”, in essence, to ‘break-up’ with them. By taking a stand of owning our decisions, we become empowered, something these companies don’t want us to be.

For 99.9 Percent of the time since our species came to be, we were hunters and foragers… -Carl Sagan

It’s just common sense that replacing foods consumed during our evolution with foods that hardly even qualifies as such, would have negative consequences. The more we eat for food quality and nutrient density the more we meet our bodies needs.

Bridging foundational with cutting edgeFocused on bringing back essential elements, foundational to our evolution and missing in modern diets, Cellemental Complete strives to restore the appreciation for what has always sustained us. The more we embrace eating and living as nature intended, the more resolute we become in resisting what’s not in our best interest.
